DIY - Wedding Gift (or keep it just for you)

We don't normally do the DIY thing, but we were so inspired by the DIY canvas we shared on our Facebook wall last week we decided to try it out for ourselves. In less then 30 minutes we had this!
Here are the simple steps to follow.

Shopping list:
  • Block mount canvas or artist board. You could even use a piece wood you might have lying around, it could be square, rectangle or whatever to create different looks.
  • Spray paint - we used silver, but no ones saying you cannot go for lime green.
  • Little wood letters to spell out what you would like to say - we went with the classic 1 Cor 13:13 - these can be found at an arts and craft store.
  • Glue.
  • Ribbon to suit your style.
What to do:
  1. Glue your words to your board / canvas.
  2. Put lots of newspaper down, making sure the floor around the sides of your board is well protected.
  3. Spray paint your board, be sure to spray evenly not too close to create run marks on your creation. Make sure you get in-between your letters and on the sides.
  4. Once this is 100% dry, add embellishments, such as a ribbon to balance it off. We had a little wire heart lying around which we added as well.

And that's all! If you've used something other than a block canvas, now all you have to do is add a hook to the back, so it can be hung up in the perfect spot easily.
